CHAVUROT

SOCIALIZE & SHARE

A chavurah brings people together who have like interests such as their home state, love of books, learning more about their religion, going out to dinner, talking about current events, etc. The JCV has several active groups who meet on a regular basis or at intervals that they determine. Each group has a person who is the coordinator, but not the decision-maker, as that task is shared by the participants in the chavurah. Some groups have been in existence for years, and some have just begun.

If you have an interest in meeting other members of our congregation in small groups, please email us at membership@thejcv.org

Choir

Loud & Proud

The JCV choir is a volunteer group of singers. We sing at the first Shabbat Services of each month. Rehearsal takes place at 6:30pm before the services. Most of the Shabbat singers also join our High Holy Days choir. You do not have to read music, but it is a plus! We like to look unified, so we wear white tops and dark bottoms for services.

If you are interested in singing with us, please contact Cantor Marci at cantor@thejcv.org.

Crafty Mavens

TALKING & QUILTING

We love to quilt or just sit around talking about knitting, sewing, or quilting. We come together on the second and fourth Monday of every month and welcome anyone interested in any of the needle arts.

Sisterhood is an affiliation of women joined together to work for the good of the JCV, to promote interaction through religious, educational, cultural, civic, social and recreational events, and to develop a strong sense of community and friendship.

Food Festival

FOOD, CULTURE AND FUN

For 26 years, on the third Sunday in February, the Jewish Congregation of Venice has invited the greater community to celebrate the delicious diversity of Jewish foods and culture. From piled-high corned beef and pastrami sandwiches to stuffed cabbage, knishes, kugel, chicken and matzo ball soup, brisket and homemade pastries, thousands of attendees join hundreds of volunteers to enjoy food and entertainment. There is also a flea market, jewelry sale, continuous entertainment, vendor booths, and raffle prizes.
